What is supply chain management?

Supply chain management commonly known as SCM, It is also called
as Demand Chain Management it is a process between the manufacturer and other linked departments within the companies such as supply of goods, finance, and other information, suppliers, vendors, clients, buyers, and others who involves with them.

Supply chain management includes the following,

  • It is a combination of actions like buying, manufacturing, transporting products and storehouse.
  • It is a combination of the above actions over buyers, services and market.
  • It is a combination of the actions important, skillful and functional planning.
  • It is a combination activity.

There are four steps in supply chain management,

  • First step is called as Plan. A plan is developed to deal how the product will reach the need of the buyers or dealers. An important part is planning a gainful chain supply.
  • Second step is Develop. It deals with the building good relationship with the suppliers and buyers.
  • Third step is Make, it means the manufactured goods, checked, covered, and planned for supply. Then all the stage, receiving orders of customer and goods delivery should be planned. This is also called as Deliver.
  • Fourth step is Return. This means the customers returns the faulty products. In this period, company has to face the questions of the customers.
